Seasons 6-10

And Maggie Makes Three (Season 6 Episode 13)

In this episode, Lisa questions why there are no baby pictures of Maggie in the house. Homer proceeds to tell the story of Maggie's birth, ending with the fact that he keeps the baby pictures at work, where he "needs them most". The flashback in this episode takes place in 1993, two years before the episode aired, but four years after the premier of the show, in which Maggie was already born.
Because the episode only takes place two years in the past, the characters' styles do not change. The exception is Dr. Hibbert, who is once again sporting a dated haircut.

This episode also provides a back story for Homer's baldness. He is shown in flashbacks ripping his hair out when Marge announces the pregnancies of Bart and Lisa. However, it is also shown that even though each of his children appeared to be an unwelcome surprise, he loved each of them as soon as they were born.

Lisa’s Wedding (Season 6, Episode 19)

This is a flash-forward episode which aired in 1995. The episode involves a carnival fortune teller talking to Lisa about her first wedding. The flash forward takes place in 2010, and Lisa is a 23 year old University student. This episode marks a shift in the Simpsons’ family timeline. In the flashback “Lisa’s First Word”, Lisa is born in 1983, meaning if the timeline wasn’t adjusted she would be 27 years old in 2010. Fashion and technology are not portrayed as radically different, with teenaged Maggie dressed similarly to 1990s grunge fashion.
The episode does include several things from 1995, and how they are portrayed in the “future”. For instance, at one point the episode mentions “40 Classic Movies starring Jim Carey”. On the season 6 directors’ commentary, it was said that this was a reference to how popular Carey’s movies were in 1995, even though he was not well-respected as an actor (Mirkin).
